1st race – (4) Chi Town Lady is working sharply for her debut and should break her maiden for Ward at first asking. (7) Jamaican Traffic was hurt by a slow start in her debut and could be more of a factor today. (5) Paolina also debuts for Ward and cannot be ignored. (2) My Girl Steve might be a contender from the rail. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-5-7.

4th race - (7) Tracy Flick (A) was disqualified from a victory when he appeared to be the best horse. Should make amends for that setback here. (5) Dearest Kitten is a firster from Ward who will be dangerous here. (6) Naked On the Beach could also make her presence felt in her debut. (3) Fairchild was second in both career starts and will be a main factor here. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-6-7. Doubles: 3-5-6-7 with 1-2-4.

5th race – (2) Banks Island hasn’t raced since June when he was a winner at Churchill Downs. He’s won off a layoff before and he can do it again today. (1) Dean Martini might wake up in this spot. (4) Get the Prize fits in well here and merits consideration. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-4.

7th race – (8) Starting Over makes his first start for Chad and should be ready for a big effort today. (2) Juulstone appears ready for an improved performance here. (1) Buy Me Candy might work out a good trip from the rail. (6) Glynn County should be closing quickly in the final furlong. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-6-8.

9th race – (7) Black Sand had a rough trip in his debut but should be ready for a winning 2021 debut. (5) Picasso Collection should appreciate a return to turf. (3) Bitten by Kitten figures to be a main threat while making his debut. (2) Mischevious Mel should welcome the stretchout to two turns after sprinting in her debut. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-7.
