Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch                   B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
* - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

2nd race – (12) Growth Capital (C) was bet down from 2-1 to 8-5 for his debut and settled for second. Drew a tough post but deserves serious consideration. (6) Mahoney Road was third in all three career starts and can move up a notch or two. (11) Urban Forest might be a factor in the final furlong. (2) Double Clutch was third in his debut and could be closer today. Betting strategy: 12 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-6-11-12.

4th race – (8) Under Oath was a good third on a wet track in his debut and should graduate today. (1) Dini d’Amore can be a contender in his first start. (2) Rikio is another firster who has displayed some ability. (3) Artorius should not be overlooked in this field. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-8. Doubles: 1-2-3-8 with 4-6-7-11.

5th race – (6) Limited Liability closed out his 2-year-old season with a pair of thirds in stakes. Can start off his year with a victory. (4) Credit Event looked good winning on Tapeta and merits a close look here. (7) Merci is another debut winner who should be formidable. (11) Churchtown has plenty of speed and could be tough to catch. Betting strategy: 6 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-6-7-11.

8th race – (5) Change of Control was unprepared when the gates opened last time and can make amends here. (6) Jouster might appreciate the turnback to a sprint. (11) Goin’ Good fits in nicely in this field. (12) Elle Z will be dangerous despite an outside post.  Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-6-11-12.

10th race – The Grade 1 Jenny Wiley Stakes - (3) Shantisara closed last year with a flourish and seems ready to start her 4-year-old season with a big effort. (4) Regal Glory won the Pegasus turf race for fillies and mares and looks like the main rival in a race topped by two Chad Brown runners. (2) Waliyak closed 2021 with a fourth in a grade 1 stakes and loom the main threat to the stablemates. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-4.
