11th race – (8) Major Fed had a miserable trip in the Matt Winn Stakes and ran accordingly. Breaking from the outside post in a field of 10, he was carried  wide on the first turn, losing a ton of ground. He was then seven wide turning for home. Off a trip like that, losing by a little more than 15 lengths to some very good rivals is no disgrace. His recent work was sharp and his prior efforts in some key Kentucky Derby preps paint him as the one to fear most. (4) Earner looks like another talented 3-year-old making his stakes debut for Asmussen. He was third in a tough allowance race that included the Ohio Derby winner and has enough speed to be the one to catch in the final furlong. (9) Winning Impression rallied mildly for fourth in a division of the Arkansas Derby and should be able to pick up a check here. (5) Shared Sense was a distant second in a loaded allowance race and fits in quite well with this group. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-8-9. Trifecta box 2-4-5-8-9.
