The $200,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes, Santa Anita Park, Race 8

8th race – (1) Messier is from the Bob Baffert barn and was a game second in the Los Alamitos Futurity. Breaking from the rail he should take the lead and not look back in a small field. (2) Sir London broke his maiden by 10 lengths last time. Prat stays on board and he shapes up as the main rival. (4) Wharton is also trained by Baffert and comes off a maiden win at 6 1/2 furlongs. He seems bred for the distance but this will be an acid test in graded stakes company for him. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta and trifecta box: 1-2-4.
