Keeneland September Sale Graduate Swiss Skydiver Favored in Grade 1 Alabama

Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduates, led by multiple graded stakes winner Swiss Skydiver, comprise five of the seven sophomore fillies entered in Saturday’s Alabama (G1) at Saratoga.

The Alabama is a prep for the Kentucky Oaks (G1) on Sept. 4 at Churchill Downs and a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” event for the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) on Nov. 7 at Keeneland.

Swiss Skydiver finished second in the Toyota Blue Grass (G2) at Keeneland on July 11 in her last start. Among the other talented contenders are Envoutante, third in the Central Bank Ashland (G1), and Crystal Ball, second in the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1).

September Sale graduates Decorated Invader and Colonel Liam top the field for the Saratoga Derby Invitational, the first leg of the New York Racing Association’s Turf Trinity. A Grade 1 winner, Decorated Invader is undefeated this season, having won the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame (G2) and Pennine Ridge (G2) in his last two starts. The Saratoga Derby marks the stakes debut of impressive turf allowance winner Colonel Liam.
