Keeneland Turf Workers Include Horses Expected For Churchill Races

May 23, 2020

Trainers Brad Cox and Rusty Arnold sent out horses with upcoming engagements at Churchill Downs for Saturday works on the firm Keeneland turf course.

Cox worked Slam Dunk Racing and Medallion Racing’s multiple Grade 2 winner Beau Recall (IRE) and Juddmonte Farms’ Grade 3 winner Juliet Foxtrot (GB) and said both mares would make their 2020 debuts in the May 30 Old Forester Mint Julep (G3) at Churchill.

The two covered four furlongs in :50.80. (Click here for a video of the work.)

Beau Recall, a 6-year-old by Sir Prancealot (IRE), has not raced since Sept. 28, when she was second in the Rodeo Drive (G1) at Santa Anita.

A 5-year-old by Dansili (GB), Juliet Foxtrot in her last race was third in the Dec. 1 Matriarch (G1) at Del Mar.

For Arnold, Grade 3 winner Leinster worked five furlongs in 1:01.60, and Grade 3 winner Totally Boss covered four furlongs in :50.60. (Click here for a video of the works.)

Neither horse has raced since the 2019 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1). Arnold said Leinster, a 5-year-old son of Majestic Warrior, is to race in a May 29 allowance at Churchill for owners Amy Dunne, Brenda Miley, Westrock Stables and Jean Wilkinson. He is considering a Churchill race for Totally Boss, a 5-year-old son of Street Boss who races for Jim and Susan Hill. Both horses would be pointed at the July 11 Shakertown (G3) during Keeneland’s proposed five-day Summer Meet, he said.
