st race [OC50k/SAL50k, 6F] – (1) Tavin (B) turned her head leaving the gate and was last. She rallied six wide and finished fourth beaten less than two lengths. (6) Progeny had the lead in the stretch and then got beaten by a neck. Now a 3-year-old she gets Lasix for the first time. (2) Antenna broke her maiden for a $50,000 tag in October, came right back to win at today’s level, and then moved up to allowance company. (5) Anna’s Wish changes to the George Weaver barn and ships up from Kentucky where she broke her maiden at Churchill Downs and then was second in a starter allowance.

nd race [Alw 82000 N1X, 6F] – (3) Who Hoo Thats Me (B) raced wide to rally from last to third. (2) Full Moon Madness made his second start of the year following 11 months off in an allowance where he had the lead, lost by a neck, but was disqualified and placed fifth for coming in and bumping others. (6) Kupp had the lead and finished second by a head in a $40,000 open claimer and was taken after posting a career best speed figure. (1) Kool Kathmandu was third in an allowance like this one in his first start after a layoff and most recently won an allowance at Finger Lakes on the front end.

rd race [Md 20000, 1 1/8 mi] – (6) No Surrender dropped down and was second at this maiden claiming level after pressing the pace. (4) Phantom Jewel changes to a New York trainer and ships down from Woodbine which closed for the winter and makes a significant drop down in class. (8) Dudley Dickerson has eight top three finishes while racing in these kind of maidens. (5) Comanche Peak made his debut on the turf at Aqueduct and got pulled up. He comes back as a new gelding and gets first-time Lasix.

th race [Alw 50000s, 1 1/8 mi] – (4) I Feel the Need was an easy winner of a $40,000 claimer at Keeneland following a three month layoff and got claimed by Linda Rice. Last time she broke slowly. (6) Starry Midnight returned from an eight-month break to run third for a $40,000 tag. (2) Just a Nyquist had three excellent results in low level claimers including a 10-length score going a mile. (1) Miss Kristy moved from turf to dirt last time and was fourth in a starter allowance.

Best bets: Who Hoo Thats Me (2nd); I Feel the Need (5th). Best Value: Tavin (1st); No Surrender (3rd).
