4th race [Clm 32000, 6 ½ F] – (4) Classic Diva (B) stepped up to a tough spot after her maiden breaker. She broke through the gate pre-race, set the pace, and then faded. In her first start as a 3-year-old she gets Lasix for the first time and the blinkers come off. (3) Pretty Up (B) broke last in a field of 12 and was able to press the pace and then drew off to break her maiden by a neck. (7) Tavin comes back in two weeks after a pair of fourth-place finishes in starter allowances for her first try in an open claimer. (1) Dorth’s Sol Dancer won a maiden special weight in her fifth try by nine lengths at Finger Lakes.

5th race [NY, Md 40000, 6 ½ F] – (7) Call Her Bluff raced six times as a 2-year-old and never finished worse than fourth and now runs for a tag for the first time. (6) Collect the Data flashed speed in both starts for Chad Brown in maiden special weights. (9) Snarky showed speed in previous starts but was eased on Dec. 1 but comes back on a normal timetable and it is in a maiden claimer. (2) Brooklyn Rosie will make her debut for a trainer that wins with firsters.

7th race [NY, OC 45k/N2X, 7F] – (1) Market Alert (B) returns in two weeks after getting blocked for a furlong in the latter stages of the race but was still able to get third and was claimed. (2) The Institute won his last two starts changing barns after the win at Finger Lakes and moving to Horacio DePaz to win the first-level allowance for state-breds. (4) Radio Red was second at this level to end the year where he won twice. (5) Amundson won for the 11th time in his career at this allowance level at Saratoga and got claimed for $50,000 in his last start.

8th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (4) Heavyweight Champs (A) made his career debut in a NY Stallion Series stake where he set the pace and was moved up to second by disqualification. (9) Allied Attack (C) was fourth and then third after a layoff from Saratoga, was bet down from 5-1 to 5-2 and had to rally to get third. (10) Red Flyer will debut for Todd Pletcher as a son of the successful first-year sire Vino Rosso. (8) Last Drink will make his first start for Wesley Ward who wins with 30% of his first-time runners on the dirt.

Best bets: Call Her Bluff (5th); Heavyweight Champs (8th). Best Value: Classic Diva (4th); Market Alert (7th).
