nd race [Alw 50000s, 1 1/8 mi] – (5) Masterwork (D) was bet down from 5-1 to 3-1, got rank under restraint, and still rallied to get fourth. He gets a jockey change which may help with this horse that is hard to handle. (6) Apollo Rising rallied to get the lead and finished third in a starter allowance following a pair of wins. (1) Cheeky Tico won a claiming race by almost seven-lengths with a career best speed figure. (3) Memphis was claimed last time for $16,000 after winning a stretch duel.

th race [NY, Alw 72000 N1X, 6 ½ F] – (2) Reigning Chick (C) ran her best race in this type of state-bred allowance when second last time while bet down from 13-1 to 9-1. (1) Chasing Daylight was on the lead, stopped running, and got eased three weeks ago. She comes right back and cuts back in distance. (4) Liberty Flame got claimed from an open-length victory for $10,000 and moves back to a NY-bred allowance where back in May she finished second. (6) Highway Harmony was a promising 2-year-old that has past races that make her a contender in this spot.

th race [Clm 16000, 1 mi] – (4) Goldini (C) was bet down from 9-2 to be the 9-5 favorite, had the lead in the stretch, and finished second for a $10,000 tag. (2) Gut Feeling ran in a pair of starter allowances and now drops back to the claiming ranks where he was a winner for $25,000 in November. (7) First Glimpse returns from a December layoff having moved to the barn of Rick Dutrow. (1A) Pit Boss was a winner three races back for $12,500, got claimed, made two starts in tougher spots and drops down here.

th race [Stymie, 1 mi] – (5) Iron Works (B) got shut off and checked hard at the break last time and finished fourth in an allowance. (6) Castle Chaos was entered to run at Gulfstream Park on Saturday also but opted for the Stymie. He was graded-stakes placed in his last two races with a nose loss in the Fred Hooper (G3) at the Florida track and a third in the Cigar Mile (G2). He won an allowance at the Big A going the mile distance. (1) Kinetic Sky exits a pair of thirds in stakes races and had two allowance wins before that. (8) Petulante comes back from a June layoff after winning three races in a row including the Salvator Mile (G3) at Monmouth Park and is now in the barn of Rick Dutrow.

Best bets: Masterwork (2nd); Reigning Chick (4th). Best value: Goldini (5th); Iron Works (8th).
