1st race [Md 20000, 1 mi] – (3) Andy Cant will drop into this maiden claimer after a series of maiden special weights following an eight month layoff. (6) No Surrender was second in 3 out of his last 4 starts after pressing or setting the pace. (1) Crown That Saint was on the lead, finished second, and then tried a higher level maiden claimer last time. (7) Pappou’s Laugh debuted in December at 6-1 and set the pace for a $40,000 tag. He now gets blinkers on and first-time Lasix for his second start.

3rd race [Clm 14000 N3L, 1 mi] – (2) Perpetual Praise (C) was bet down from 7-1 to 5-1, lost footing at the start, got to the lead but then faded following a four month layoff. (7) Argentina Girl won a N2L condition claimer by more than seven lengths with a front-end effort and then tried a starter allowance. (5) Strange Fruit went gate to wire to win at the N2L level. (3) Starry Midnight drops to the lowest level of her career. Her most recent victory was in January in a starter allowance.

4th race [NY, Md 40000, 7F] – (6) Dancing Liana (B) broke last in her debut earlier in the month and the rallied for second as the favorite. (9) Sendara debuted in January as a heavy favorite, finished third. She will now change to the Linda Rice barn and the blinkers come off. (4) Grab the Glory has been off sine racing at Saratoga in August. She will drop into a maiden claimer for the first time which is a 54% winning move for Rice. (3) Stormin Heist was third in her debut against open company for connections that stable their horses in Pennsylvania and frequently ship their NY-breds to Aqueduct.

7th race [NY, Alw 72000 N1X, 1 mi] – (7) Speightful Lily (A/C) broke her maiden in her first start as a 4-year-old by more than 14 lengths earning a very high speed figure after getting bet down from 5-1 to 7-2. (6) Chasing Daylight has shown early speed in her last two starts but before that raced from off the pace to win a starter allowance. A fast pace is expected in this race. (9) Jsk Lucky’s Pushpa was second in a similar allowance last time out. (1A) Sail With the Wind was third in her first start of the year after a three month layoff.

Best bets: Andy Cant (1st); Speightful Lily (7th). Best value: Perpetual Praise (3rd); Dancing Liana (4th).
