st race [Alw 16000s, 1 mi] – (7) Magnolia Midnight won 3 out of his last 4 starts with victories for a $40,000 tag last time makes this protected race a spot where he stands over this field. (2) Cool Quartet won his last race for a $16,000 tag and had a pair of victories for $12,500 not too far back in his past performances. (1) Tetsu and (1A) Got Thunder are both win contenders for trainer David Jacobson. (4) Higher Quality just missed las time in a $25,000 claimer after setting the pace which came after three starts against much tougher fields.

nd race [Md 40000, 6F] – (8) Progeny flashed speed in all three of her starts which were in maiden special weights. (5) Union Belle was claimed early in her debut on a sloppy track at 9-2 odds and now cuts back in distance and drops down a notch. (7) To Be Loved by You gets blinkers on after making her first start at Laurel Park for Rudy Rodriguez. (2) Mel’s Angel was in for a tag for the first time and on a dirt track for the first time where she pressed the pace and finished third.

th race [Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (1) Foreign Influence (B) lacked room in the stretch of his last start, squeezed through to find running room, and rallied to get second. (1A) Xcellent Man is also a win contender in that Jacobson entry. (8) Golden Sombrero will make his first start following a May layoff after changing to the barn of George Weaver. (4) War Stride is also running for Weaver, set the pace last time out and finished third. (3) Savings Rate will debut for Chad Brown.

th race [Alw 90000 N1X, 1 1/8 TURF] – (7) Dreamawayseven (D) returned from a short layoff on a sloppy track, was bet down from 5-1 to 5-2, set the pace, and then faded. (1) Alluring Angel changes barns after an April layoff. She was a debut winner last year and then was stakes placed in four starts in stakes. (4) Swoop to Finish was a late-running second in an allowance at Saratoga. (3) Notinamillionyears  broke her maiden in her second start for Chad Brown when she rallied from last in 10 horse field.

Best bets:  Magnolia Midnight (1st); Progeny (2nd). Best value:  Foreign Influence (5th); Dreamawayseven (6th).
