rd race [Md 50000, 6F TURF] – (6) Typhoon Fury will drop into a claimer for the first time and actually already crossed the finish first in a maiden special weight but was disqualified from the purse money at a later date. (8) Betta Go Go Go finish third in his last two starts and will cut back to a sprint. (2) Crash the Gate returns from a March layoff after racing at Gulfstream Park and goes in for a tag for the first time. (7) Arteta gets blinkers on and runs on the turf for the first time while trying a maiden claimer.

th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (1) Empire Magic was third in her debut for Danny Gargan in May earning a speed figure that significantly tops this field. (5) Happy’s Smile was third and then second in similar races in her last two starts. (7) Gregorian Solo gets first-time Lasix for her second start after getting taken up at the furlong pole and finishing fourth. (6) Santagata was 8-1 for his first start which was three weeks ago.

th race [NY, Port Washington, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Snowy Evening (B) just nine days ago rallied from last to second going six wide against a slow pace. (5) Silver Skillet was a winner in her second start of the year in a NY-bred stakes race that was meant for the turf but went on a muddy track. On the turf she has run well against open company and had victories versus state-breds. (1) Marvelous Maude was third in her first start of the year in an Aqueduct open-company stakes. Last year she was a winner of a NY-bred stakes. (4) Whatlovelookslike won this race last year and will make her 2024 debut now.

th race [NY, Alw 80000 N1X, 6 ½ F] – (1) Scoring Chance was a debut winner last year by almost five lengths at Aqueduct and was third in an allowance start in April when last seen. (2) Carol T came back from a four month layoff to break her maiden in May and then tried a NY-bred stakes race last month. (5) Mysaria pressed the pace and finished third in her most recent start in a similar spot in June. (3) Scarlet’s Dream tried the turf unsuccessfully last time but was second before that in a race like this one.

Best bets: Typhoon Fury (3rd); Empire Magic (4th). Best value: Snowy Evening (5th); Scoring Chance (7th).
