3rd race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (5) Top of the Table (C) was bet down from 6-1 to 4-1 in her second career start and stretched out to run second beaten by just a neck. Katie Davis, who has 3 wins from 7 mounts at the BAQ meeting, stays on board. (1) Mommasgottagun (B) did some late running in her debut for Linda Rice at 4-1 odds and finished fourth. (4) Focus Pocus has three second-place finishes in a row with one last month following a winter layoff. (7) Better Be Smart has two third-place finishes in her only starts this year.

5th race [Md 40000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (3) Shade of Pale made one start last year for Chad Brown at Monmouth Park in August and now gets Lasix and drops into this claiming race. (10) Mexican Sugar ran her best in maiden claimers. (5) Addressable Market missed a win by a neck the last time she ran on the grass. (7) That’sthefactjack made her first start of the year while moving in for a tag, set the pace, and finished second by a less than a length.

6th race [Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (4) Treaty Obligation was second or third in all five starts last year and comes back as a gelding for Chad Brown. (3) Arteta pressed the pace and ran fourth at 9-2 in his first start of the year. (7) Cage Match finished second and third in his races at Aqueduct this year. (8) Light the Way was second in his second start of the year and is another one that will be part of the pace.

8th race [NY, Md 30000, 6F] – (7) Book of Wisdom will drop into a maiden claimer for the first time with six top three finishes in eight races. (5) Stormin Heist made a big move forward in her second start of the year and just missed the win by a nose. (2) Teresa had her best race when she earned her top speed figure and finished second. (8) Houdini’s Bride was third in her debut at 5-2 for a trainer that does not win with firsters.

Best bets: Shade of Pale (5th); Book of Wisdom (8th). Best value: Top of the Table (3rd); Treaty Obligation (6th).
