2nd race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 mi TURF] – (3) Vitalize (B) came back from a long layoff, moved from dirt to turf, and pressed the pace. (8) Patronage returned from his debut a year ago, broke awkwardly, had to rally late from far back, and finished second. (2) Daybright Delights pressed the pace in his last two starts since going long. (5) Magic Beach will make his second start after a year off when he was 5-1 and finished fourth.

3rd race [NY, Sleepy Hollow, 1 mi] – (3) Pay the Juice (B) dropped back and climbed due to kickback, raced wide against an inside favoring track, and finished third in a NY-bred stakes race. (2) Sacrosanct won both of his starts as the favorite in a maiden at Saratoga and then by 12 lengths in a state-bred stakes last month. (1) Mo Plex won his first three races including the Sanford (G3) and then was third in the Champagne (G1). (5) Soontobeking was second in his last two starts in NY-bred stakes.

4th race [NY, Maid of the Mist, 1 mi] – (3) With the Angels (A) won both of her races impressively by a combined 21 lengths including the Joseph A. Gimma as the 1-10 favorite. (5) Valtellina (B) finished second behind the top choice last month. (2) Another Cleeshay broke her maiden in an auction-price-restricted race at Saratoga by nine lengths and then was fourth in the Frizette (G1). (4) Carmen’s Candy Jar was also a debut winner and since was fourth in the Schuylerville and twice in the top three in NY-bred stakes.

9th race [NY, Mohawk, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (4) Fidelightcayut (C) was bet down from 7-1 to 5-1 in the Rick Violette at Saratoga, set the pace and battled down the stretch to just miss the win by a neck. (1) Spirit of St Louis finished first in 8 of his last 12 starts which includes an open-company stakes at Aqueduct in the spring. (8) Hush of a Storm won 2 of his last 3 starts, after getting claimed for $45,000 by Brad Cox, including the Ashley T Cole against NY-breds last month. (6) Dakota Gold won the state-bred West Point at Saratoga in August.

Best bets: Pay the Juice (3rd); With the Angels (4th). Best value: Vitalize (2nd); Fidelightcayut (9th).
