nd race [Clm 16000B, 1 mi] – (5) Anthracite will drop down after a series of top three finishes at the $25,000 claiming level. (6) Arrebato returned from a six month layoff and moves back down to the price at which he was last a winner. (1) Because the Night was a winner of the N2L condition in his most recent start which was in June. (4) Mr. Swagger has been racing against much tougher competition throughout his career.

th race [(R) MOC 50000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (7) Salvation (B) was second in his debut last month for Linda Rice and was well clear of the rest of the field. The third-place horse won his next race. Typically, Rice’s young horses are ready to win in their second start. (10) Max N Fifo (D) was bet down from 18-1 to 13-1, got off to a slow start, and finished fourth. (9) Printer’s Alley was sent off as an odds-on favorite in his debut but showed a lot of inexperience while finishing fourth. (3) Mythical Man was the 5-2 favorite in his first start which was meant for the turf but was run on the main track.

th race [Md 50000, 7F] – (1) Houlton recorded the best speed figure in this field last time when he ran second at Saratoga. (6) Dark Devil has been off since July when he had a show finish for the third time in a row. (8) Street View was claimed for $50,000 when he was second and then stepped up in class and finished third. (3) Paxsational moves from turf to dirt for a trainer that has a hot barn at this BAQ meeting and has early speed.

th race [Md Sp Wt, 6F TURF] – (7) Tam I Am was third in her first start for Todd Pletcher at 7-1. (9) Pretty Liza had a troubled trip in her first start when she finished third beaten by only a neck and gets blinkers on. (10) Moonscape will make her first start for a trainer that is off to a great start at the BAQ meeting and shows a few turf workouts at Saratoga. (3) Candy Quest shows some very fast workouts for her debut for Mark Casse.

Best bets: Anthracite (2nd); Tam I Am (8th). Best value: Salvation (4th); Houlton (6th).
