th race [NY, Md 30000, 6F] – (2) Woodside Warrior was second at this level in his last two starts with figures that top this field. (8) Bad Larry showed early speed in his last two races and finished third. (1) Mr. Busta had three finishes in second or third but he stretched out to seven furlongs last time and that did not suit him. (3) Watch Hill was sent off at 9-2 in his debut and was a voided claim after he finished behind the top choice.

th race [Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (4) Silo Ridge made a huge improvement in his second start for Bill Mott which often happens. He finished second and ran what is by far the highest speed figure in this field. (6) Phelpsy returns from a July layoff when he was last seen at Monmouth Park where he had the lead and finished second. Blinkers come off now. (5) Light the Way was last seen running third at Aqueduct in March when he had the lead. (2) Flying Liam was second at Monmouth in August.

th race [NY, OC 45k/N2X, 1 mi TURF] – (5) Straight Arrow (B) got stuck in traffic in the stretch in his first start on the grass. (8) Ocala Dream won at this level last month when he got class relief and comes back using the claiming option against a couple of horses he beat in that race. (4) Agent Creed has four top three finishes in a row at this NY-bred level and was second in that Ocala Dream race. (6) Let’s Go Big Blue crossed the finish line first two races back in a state-bred stakes race and was disqualified to second.

th race [NY, Md 40000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (4) Pinstripepizzo (B) ran the best race in her career when she got pinched back at the start in a field of 11 and finished third. (5) Arisaema (A) tossed her head at the break putting her last in a 12 horse field and she managed to rally for second. (3) Jannie Mae has early speed which she used last time at Saratoga to set the pace and run second. (7) Charisse gets blinkers on as she returns from a July layoff when she was fourth with a career best speed figure.

Best bets:  Woodside Warrior (5th); Silo Ridge (6th). Best value:  Straight Arrow (7th); Pinstripepizzo (9th).
