3rd race [Md Sp Wt, 1 3/16 mi TURF] – (7) War Officer (B) got taken up at the break and then he rallied from last to finish second. (5) Torigo finished second in his last two starts in July at Belmont Park and then last month at Kentucky Downs. (9) Sacred Rhyme faced strong fields in all three starts and finished third twice. Last time he was just a half-length behind the Hot List horse. (3) The Jackal earned his best speed figure when he ran second at Kentucky Downs and now cuts back from 1 ½ miles.

7th race [Alw 100000N1X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (10) Capture the Flag (C) was bet down from 6-1 to 4-1 and made a big improvement in his first turf race when he was third three weeks ago. (5) Redistricting was a debut winner as the favorite at Belmont Park in June for Chad Brown and then tried the Belmont Derby (G1). (9) Quality G won a starter allowance on the grass last time and got a high speed figure for this field. (3) Ramblin’ Wreck gets first time Lasix with two wins and a second in stakes races.

8th race [Mother Goose (G2), 1 1/8 mi] – (5) Occult was third last time in the Cotillion (G1) on a Parx Racing sloppy track that had plenty of standing water and still managed to rally from last. In her prior race she won the Monmouth Oaks (G3) by more than 10 lengths. Last winter she won twice at Aqueduct including the Busanda. (7) Defining Purpose won the Ashland (G1) at Keeneland and has faced top 3-year-olds subsequently. She also got a victory in the Indiana Oaks (G3) in July. (1) Foggy Night did not appreciate the sloppy conditions in the Cotillion. Before that she won the Cathryn Sophia at Parx and the Delaware Oaks (G3). (6) Xigera is a stakes winner on turf and dirt and took the Seneca at Churchill Downs last month by more than six lengths after four starts on the grass that included a victory in the Tepin at Ellis Park in July.

11th race [Alw 90000 N1X, 6F TURF] – (5) Wish List (B) returns after a year layoff following a second in her debut in a maiden special weight at the BAQ meeting. (2) Material Witness moved onto the turf and finished second and third with a big jump up in speed figures. (8) Oolong Hai returned from a three month layoff and was rank when seen tossing her head. In prior races she showed lots of speed. (10) Catskill Humor broke a step slow and rallied to finish fifth and got moved up through disqualification.

Best bets:  War Officer (3rd); Occult (8th). Best value: Capture the Flag (7th); Wish List (11th).
