st race [Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (4) Billal was third in his debut at Saratoga behind the highly regarded Fierceness who was the favorite in the Saturday’s Champagne (G1). (2) Speed Runner is a well-bred son of Gun Runner for Todd Pletcher out of a mare that produced seven winners including a Grade 1 winning millionaire. (1) Ridgewood Runner had a pair of good starts at Saratoga and then gets a pass for a try on the grass. (5) Lambeth will make his first start for Bill Mott and Juddmonte and is a son of Arrogate.

nd race [Clm 16000 N2L, 6 ½ F] – (5) Diamond Collector will drop down from a pair of starter allowances to the lowest of her career for Linda Rice. (7) Guardian Angel drops down a notch after a third and a second at Mid-Atlantic tracks. (3) Baby Sox pressed the pace, got the lead, and finished second in her last start at Aqueduct where she has run well. (6) Serenade Soldier makes her third start after a layoff and running third behind Baby Sox last time.

rd race [Beldame (G2), 1 1/8 mi] – (3) Randomized won her last two starts with front-end efforts which were in a restricted stakes race at Saratoga followed by the Alabama (G1). (4) Nostalgic won a top-level allowance at Saratoga in her second start following a layoff and is a past graded stakes winner. (2) A Mo Reay came back from a short break in a Grade 3 at Churchill Downs recently and also won the Beholder (G1) in March. (1) Riding Pretty was third in the Monmouth Oaks (G3) and then won an optional claimer against Jersey-breds.

th race [NY, Alw 80000, 6F] – (5) Carbon (B) broke through the gate and ran off on a sloppy sealed track which is really not to her liking. (6) Clover Street returns from a July layoff after trying the turf unsuccessfully. Before that she had a pair of seconds at this state-bred level. (4) Fancypants Juliana moves to the barn of David Donk after last running in July. She broke her maiden against open company at Finger Lakes. (7) Sikum has run well at this level both on the turf and the main track and comes back on two weeks of rest.

Best bets:  Billal (1st); Randomized (3rd). Best value:  Diamond Collector (2nd); Carbon (4th).
