Breeders’ Cup Hopefuls Candied, Kilwin Work

Two horses with designs on possible starts at the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Del Mar each put in half-mile works over the fast main track Friday morning: Candied (Distaff) for trainer Todd Pletcher and Kilwin (Juvenile Fillies Turf) for trainer Rusty Arnold.

Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners’ Candied worked a half-mile in :50.40 with Battle Drum (FR), a 2-year-old maiden owned by Repole Stable.

BBN Racing’s Kilwin worked a half-mile in :48.40 in company with Glenn Bromagen II, Patrick Lewis and Sandra Bromagen’s Poolside With Slim (IRE), who is entered in next Friday’s Bank of America Valley View (G2). (Click here for a video of the work.)
