In-person Hiring Center will be open in September
Keeneland has a variety of job opportunities for people who are interested in working at the race track during the 2023 Fall Meet from Oct. 6-28 and offers several ways to apply for available positions: by visiting Keeneland.com/jobs or by attending the Hiring Center at the track in September.
“Each season, returning employees come from more than 160 cities in 60 Kentucky counties and from 26 states as far away as California to take part in Keeneland’s exciting, fast-paced atmosphere. They have a great deal of pride in Keeneland and Central Kentucky and are committed to our mission,” Keeneland Chief of Staff Kari West said. “Our seasonal positions are a good fit for just about anyone looking for short-term employment as well as those who seek positions that can lead to other opportunities. This team is vital in helping create the experience and providing the hospitality for which Keeneland is known.”
Keeneland has openings in Parking and Security, Retail, Guest Services and Program Sellers. Keeneland Hospitality, which provides food and beverage service for the entire Keeneland campus, has positions in Culinary, Concessions, Dining, Stewarding, Track Kitchen and more. People with all levels of culinary, wait staff and host experience are urged to apply. They will receive the opportunity to gain valuable culinary and dining experience while training directly under talented chefs.
The majority of Fall Meet jobs are entry level and do not require any formal training other than the paid training that is provided by Keeneland. Employees for the entire season typically work 40 paid hours each week.
Hiring Center open in September
Another option for people to pursue Fall Meet employment is by visiting the Hiring Center, which Keeneland will hold every Tuesday and Thursday from Sept. 5-28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second floor of the Grandstand.
When attending the Hiring Center, candidates will be able to apply for positions and participate in interviews. Because employment offers could be made on the spot, applicants must bring two forms of identification with them.
To reach the Hiring Center, take Elevator B from the ground floor near the Paddock.
Volunteer Group program available for community organizations
In addition to outstanding employment opportunities during the Fall Meet, Keeneland is proud to support the community via its Volunteer Group program. The program enables fraternities, sororities, high school booster clubs, senior groups, charitable organizations and other certified groups with a tax identification number to receive a contribution of $10 for every hour that one of their members works during the Fall Meet. Members of participating organizations might work in roles ranging from a server assistant in one of Keeneland’s dining rooms to serving food and drinks at a concession stand or working as a parking attendant.
