Half-sister to Bricks and Mortar supplemented to Breeding Stock Sale; three horses added to Horses of Racing Age Sale
Keeneland’s 81st November Breeding Stock Sale – which features mares in foal to prominent stallions and popular young sires, weanlings by those same sires and talented race fillies who are now broodmare prospects – begins with the prestigious Book 1 on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. ET. Click here for the catalog of 3,385 horses in the auction, which runs nine sessions through Wednesday, Nov. 13.
The catalog includes the first mares in foal to 2023 Horse of the Year Cody’s Wish, the first weanlings by 2022 Horse of the Year Flightline and these dispersals:
- Estate of John Hendrickson – Gainesway is handling the sale of 12 broodmares and seven weanlings owned by the late Hendrickson.
- Complete Dispersal of Stuart S. Janney III Breeding Stock – Claiborne Farm is handling the consignment of 13 broodmares and two broodmare prospects.
- Dispersal of Siena Farm Breeding Stock – Taylor Made Sales Agency is handling the consignment of 31 broodmares and one broodmare prospect.
- Complete Dispersal of Solera Farm (Ed Seltzer) – Consigned through Lane’s End and Taylor Made Sales Agency, the draft has 23 broodmares, 14 weanlings, six broodmare prospects, two racing or broodmare prospects and one stallion.
Half-sister to Bricks and Mortar supplemented to Breeding Stock Sale
In the latest round of supplements, Keeneland has added broodmare prospect Beyond Oscar, a 3-year-old half-sister to Horse of the Year Bricks and Mortar, to Book 1 of the Breeding Stock Sale. Consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent, Beyond Oscar is a daughter of Oscar Performance out of Broodmare of the Year Beyond the Waves, by Ocean Crest. She is from the family of Grade 1 winner Bordonaro and Grade 1-placed stakes winner Miss Empire.
Sale schedule
Following is the schedule for the November Breeding Stock Sale:
Book 1 – Tuesday, Nov. 5. Session will begin at 1 p.m. with 254 horses in the catalog. Keeneland will consider supplements to Book 1 until the auction starts.
Every remaining session begins at 10 a.m.:
Book 2 – Wednesday-Thursday, Nov. 6-7.
Book 3 – Friday-Saturday, Nov. 8-9.
Book 4 – Sunday-Monday, Nov. 10-11.
Book 5 – Tuesday-Wednesday, Nov. 12-13.
The stand-alone November Horses of Racing Age Sale will be held Thursday, Nov. 14 and begin at noon.

Three horses supplemented to Horses of Racing Age Sale
In the latest round of supplements to the Horses of Racing Age Sale, Keeneland has added these three horses:
- Just a Coed is a 3-year-old daughter of Justify from the family of champions Forte, Folklore and Essential Quality as well as Japanese Triple Crown winner Contrail. Consigned by Hidden Brook, agent, and cataloged as a racing or broodmare prospect, Just a Coed is out of stakes winner Student Body, by Colonel John, and also from the family of Grade 3 winner Jeano.
- Lagynos, a 3-year-old Grade 2-placed winning colt by Kantharos. Consigned by Mill Ridge Sales, agent, he is out of Steamy, by Speightstown, and is a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Vision Perfect.
- Tactical Joke is a 4-year-old filly by Practical Joke consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. From the family of Grade 1 winner Sailor’s Valentine and a half-sister to Grade 3-placed winners Desert Dynamo and Ambusher, she is out of the Dixie Union mare Competition.
Additional supplements will be considered until the day of the sale.

Know Before You Go
Due to the construction footprint at Keeneland, the operational changes in place during the September Yearling Sale will continue through the November Sales. They include:
- Valet parking – Row 21. No vehicular traffic in front of the Sales Pavilion.
- General parking – Rows 9-21 and Rows 23-33.
- ADA parking – Use valet parking in Row 21, where accessible golf cart shuttling is available.
- Golf cart parking – Designated area is at the North Gate and Clubhouse parking lots.
- Keeneland golf cart shuttles – Available around the grounds and parking areas. To request a lift while at Keeneland, call 859 288-4356.
- Paperwork – Drop off to a member of the Sales Administration team at the Repository in the Sales Pavilion.
- Horse trailers – Encouraged to use Keeneland’s Gate 1 at Versailles Road and Man o’ War Blvd. and park in designated aisles in the lower parking lot.
