The $700,000 Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3), Turfway Park – Race 12 – The Jeff Ruby Steaks drew an overflow field of twelve 3-year-olds that will compete on the Kentucky Derby trail for qualifying points of 100-50-25-15-10 that are available to the top five eligible finishers. (10) Endlessly won the first three starts in his career on the turf in California with a pair of graded stakes in the Del Mar Juvenile Turf (G3) and the Zuma Beach (G3) before running eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1). His 2024 debut was another win as he moved onto the synthetic surface at Golden Gate in the El Camino Real Derby (G3) and rallied from behind. (5) Agate Road has already run well on turf and dirt with a victory in the Pilgrim (G2) last year and a second in the Sam F. Davis (G3) last time closing from last for Todd Pletcher. There is no reason to think that he won’t like the track at Turfway Park. (3) Lucky Jeremy is one of the fastest horses in this field and has shown the ability to stalk or run on the lead to win. Last time he was third in the Sunland Derby (G3) as he tried the Kentucky Derby trail for the first time. (6) Northern Flame was third in the Rebel (G2) in his first start on the Derby trail.
