The Sunland Park Derby is a [50-20-15-10-5] points qualifier on the road to the Kentucky Derby. (4) Henry Q began his career in the barn of Doug O’Neill where it took three races to finally get a maiden victory at Santa Anita in an $62,500 optional claimer. He moved to trainer Todd Fincher and went on to an almost 15 lengths win in the Mine That Bird Derby at Sunland as an odds-on favorite. He can race on the lead or stalk. (1) How Did He Do That is a son of Good Magic that should appreciate the added distance to 1 1/8 miles. Last time he used a wide closing move to finish second in the Riley Allison Derby at Sunland Park in January. (6) Hard to Figure is still trained by Bob Baffert according to the entry information and was second in the Robert B. Lewis (G3) after having the lead in the stretch. (5) One in Vermillion is the winner of his last three starts in stakes races in the Southwest with two at Turf Paradise and most recently in the Allison Derby which is a mile.
