Rigney Racing’s Little Prankster took command approaching the eighth pole and drew off to post a 4½-length victory in the featured $115,600 Spendthrift Purse for 3-year-old fillies Thursday at Keeneland on Make-A-Wish Day.
Trained by Phil Bauer and ridden by Tyler Gaffalione for one of the jockey’s three wins on the card, Little Prankster covered the 6 furlongs on a fast main track in 1:10.28.
The victory was the third in a row for Little Prankster, who is a Keeneland sales graduate. A Kentucky-bred daughter of Practical Joke out of the Exchange Rate mare Good Grammer, she has a record of 6-3-3-0 and a bankroll of $267,940 after Thursday’s $72,540 check.
Favored in the field of seven, Little Prankster rewarded her backers with mutuels of $3.84, $2.66 and $2.48. Runner-up Miss Arlington, ridden by Francisco Arrieta, returned $4.16 and $3.46 with Lover Girl getting third under Alonso Quinonez and paying $8.36 to show.
