On Kingsbarns’ development

“This is a credit to (trainer) Todd (Pletcher’s) management and the fact that Eric Gustavson (owner and President of Spendthrift Farm) made the decision to give him the time (off) that he needed. He needed some time after his 3-year-old campaign, he got it, and he’s just done so well from 3 to 4 (years old). Hopefully he’s going to reward us with a big year.”

“I was pretty confident. He was pretty professional. He’s been a very nice horse from Day 1, when he broke his maiden at Gulfstream (Park on Jan. 14, 2023). We knew he was a special horse. We feel so grateful to be here at Keeneland and win this stakes. It’s something superior for us. I want to thank the connections, the owner (Spendthrift Farm) and (trainer Todd) Pletcher. They always do a good job.”

On Kingsbarns’ development

“Every time he’s been running, he’s been learning more and getting better and better. Today I was really impressed the way he was traveling. Pretty confident.”
