Sale is this Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Keeneland’s April Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale will begin at 6:30 p.m. this Friday, closing day of the Spring Meet. Click here for the online catalog and here for full-sale form figures.
A total of 132 horses are in the catalog, including seven horses in the latest round of supplements. They are:
- Life Advice, a 3-year-old filly by Into Mischief consigned by Gainesway, agent. Out of the winning Hold Me Back mare Ervsayslethergo, she is from the family of Grade 3 winner Jordan’s Henny.
- Low Country Magic, a 3-year-old daughter of Good Magic who scored a 3-length victory in her April 17 career debut at Keeneland. Out of Marsh Harbour, by Malibu Moon, she is from the family of Grade 1 winners Cadillacing and Strolling Along as well as Grade 2 winners Abaco and Cat Cay. Low Country Magic is consigned by I. C. Racing, agent.
- Maghra (IRE), a 3-year-old daughter of No Nay Never who is a half-sister to stakes winner and Group 1-placed Consort and to stakes winner Her World (IRE). She is also a full sister to the 4-year-old colt Wico (IRE), who was third in the April 6 Commonwealth (G3) at Keeneland. Maghra is consigned by Grovendale Sales, agent.
- Now and Later, a 4-year-old winning colt by Candy Ride (ARG) who is a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Surprisingly. Consigned by Claiborne Farm, agent, he is from the family of Grade 1 winners Pine Island and Point of Entry. His dam is Vagabond, a winning daughter of Arch.
- Proud Mary, a lightly raced 4-year-old daughter of Point of Entry who was runner-up in an allowance at Keeneland on April 20 in her season debut. Her dam is listed-placed Absolute Crackers (IRE), a winning half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner and graded stakes producer Pachattack. Proud Mary is consigned by Grovendale Sales, agent.
- Save the Trees, a 3-year-old son of Preservationist who stormed home at Keeneland on April 19 to win his career debut going 6 furlongs on the dirt and earn an 11¾ Ragozin figure. Out of the multiple stakes-placed Forestry mare Canopy Lane, Save the Trees is consigned by Airdrie Stud, agent.
- Tapthedrum, a twice-placed 4-year-old son of Tapit who is a three-quarter brother to multiple champion Monomoy Girl and a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Mr. Monomoy. Out of Broodmare of the Year Drumette, by Henny Hughes, Tapthedrum is consigned by Bridlewood Farm, agent, and will sell remotely from Bridlewood Farm in Ocala, Florida.

The following print materials are available for pickup from the Welcome Center at Keeneland:
- A print catalog for the 111 horses in the original catalog announced April 16
- A separate booklet with the Equibase PPs for those 111 horses
- A supplemental catalog with pedigree pages and Equibase PPs for Hips 112-132 that will be available for pickup Wednesday morning
- A barn order list showing the stabling location of each horse in the catalog.
Construction reminders
During the 2023 Fall Meet, Keeneland announced the construction of a new structure that will expand ticketed experiences on race days and provide new accommodations to sales customers and year-round special events. Click here for more about the construction.
April Sale clients should note several modifications on the grounds because of the construction footprint. They include:
- Parking – Valet parking will not be available. General parking is in the lower parking lot. ADA parking in Row 21 with golf cart shuttles available. RV parking in Rows 22-23.
- Paperwork – Should be dropped off at the Repository in the Sales Pavilion.
- Horse trailers – Horse trailers are encouraged to use Keeneland’s Gate 1 at Versailles Road and Man o’ War Blvd. They should park in designated aisles in the lower parking lot.
Preparing for the April Sale
Buyers who plan to attend the April Sale or participate remotely should register for an account and establish credit within the Keeneland Sales Portal. Keeneland recommends beginning this process as soon as possible due to the date of the sale.
Online and phone bidding available: Buyers may watch a real-time video view of the live sale and bid simultaneously from Keeneland’s online bidding platform accessible through their accounts in the Keeneland Sales Portal. Two options are available: a live, on-demand bid that occurs manually and a max bid, which allows the software to bid on your behalf up to a designated price.
