John O’Meara and Cheyenne Stable’s Roses for Debra, winner of the Giant’s Causeway (G3) here in the spring, headlines a field of 12 fillies and mares plus four also-eligibles entered Sunday for the 28th running of the $350,000 Franklin (G2) to be run Oct. 13.

The Franklin, contested at 5 ½ furlongs on the turf, will go as the eighth race on the nine-race program with a 4:44 p.m. ET post time.

Trained by Christophe Clement, Roses for Debra enters the Franklin off a victory in the 6 ½-furlong Presque Isle Downs Masters (G2) on Sept. 20 that was run over an all-weather surface. Irad Ortiz Jr. has the mount from post 3.

Top challengers to Roses for Debra appear to be Future Is Now and Star of Mystery (GB).

Larry Johnson’s Future Is Now has two wins over Roses for Debra this year with victories in the Smart N Fancy (L) and the Intercontinental (G2) at Saratoga for trainer Mike Trombetta. Paco Lopez has the mount from post 5.

Godolphin’s Star of Mystery, a Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed in Dubai this year, won the Quick Call (G3) at Saratoga in July in her most recent start for trainer Charlie Appleby. Prior to the Quick Call, she finished third behind Cogburn in the Jaipur (G1) Presented by Resolute Racing. Flavien Prat has the mount from post 1.
