1st race [Alw 50000s, 6 ½ F] – (4) She’s Always Rosie made her second start since she was claimed by Linda Rice at Keeneland, set the pace, and finished second with two recent speed figures that top this field. (3) Palmetto Fury was a maiden claiming winner last time for Saffie Joseph Jr. who has a hot barn right now and must be considered. (1) Oh My Mia broke her maiden at Churchill Downs last time for Tom Amoss who has three winners from only seven starters. (2) She’s Cool will make her first start since moving to Linda Rice’s barn with a pair of thirds at Churchill.

4th race [Md 20000, 6F] – (9) Save Us Melania was last seen running second at Gulfstream Park for Saffie clear of the rest of the field. (7) Negra Gata will make her first start of the year as a horse that Rice claimed last year for $40,000. (6) Coquito ran for the first time for a tag last month and drops down another notch in here. (5) Bam Bam debuted at 15-1 for Brad Cox on the turf and now makes a significant drop in class.

9th race [Clm 25000 N3L, 7F] – (10) That’s Money won his first two starts and then was fourth in an open company allowance and a NY-bred stakes. (1) J J’s Joker was a winner of a $40,000 N2L race in February and since then raced against much tougher starter allowances. (5) Anthracite was claimed from a third-place finish at this level last time by Rice and comes back in three weeks. (9) Eirik Ridge was claimed for $40,000 at Keeneland in April when she was second and subsequently took a maiden special weight at Finger Lakes.

10th race [Fourstardave, 1 mi TURF] – (4) Carl Spackler won 4 out of his last 5 including the Kelso (G3) at Saratoga. At the Spa he won 3 out of 4 races and at the mile distance he was a winner 4 times from 5 starts. The turf mile is a niche kind of race and Carl Spackler is a confirmed miler. (6) Ottoman Fleet won his last two starts in a pair of graded stakes at Churchill Downs in the Wise Dan (G2) and the Arlington (G3). At Newmarket in Great Britain he won the last two runnings of the Earl of Sefton (G3). This will be his first try at the mile distance. (7) More Than Looks will make his first start since finishing sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1). Last year he won the Manila (G3). (3) Major Dude returned from a winter layoff to run in two allowances where he finished second and then was a winner last month. He was a two-time Grade 3 winner last year.

Best bets: She’s Always Rosie (1st); That’s Money (9th). Best value: Save Us Melania (4th); Carl Spackler (10th).
