1st race [Clm 25000, 1 mi] – (7) Pretti Xtreme was claimed for $40,000 in April by Linda Rice and is a past winner for $32,000. (3) Obrigada was taken for $50,000 in May by Rudy Rodriguez and tried an allowance and a starter allowance since then. (1) Halo City drops back into a claimer to the level at which she was last claimed. (5) Whistler’s Style was a winner in the winter for $16,000 and has been racing against tougher since then.
3rd race [NY, Alw 95000 N1X, 6 ½ F] – (1) Land d’Oro (A) got bumped around early, had to check back to last, and rallied up for fourth. (5) Brown Eyed Cat (A) broke last and made an impressive late rally to win his debut. (2) Fast Buck Freddy will make his first start of the year and broke his maiden at Saratoga last summer. (4) Toscano was a debut winner and then was second in a similar spot. Last time he stretched out and did not like a sloppy track at the Spa two weeks ago.
9th race [NY, Union Avenue Handicap, 6F] – (7) Leeloo was second in a NY-bred stakes race after a bunch of open company starts. (1) Cara’s Time won a second-level allowance for state-breds in June and then was third in an open company allowance. (4) Tricky Temper is a past NY-bred stakes winner with an allowance win last time with her career best speed figure. (3) Captainsdaughter broke through the gate in her first start of the year for a Monmouth Park trainer that can be dangerous shipping to New York.
10th race [OC 80k/ N1X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (10) Mixologist (A) broke last, rushed up on the outside, got to second, and then got passed by closers. (9) Vino Rouge has three top three finishes this year in a pair of allowances and a stakes. (2) Goa won his two most recent starts last year at Chantilly in France and will come back for Chad Brown. (7) Progeny was fourth in the Boiling Springs at Monmouth after pressing the pace.
Best bets: Pretti Xtreme (1st); Leeloo (9th). Best value: Land d’Oro (3rd); Mixologist (10th).
