2nd race [Md Sp Wt, 1 3/8 mi TURF] – (2) Jitterbug went to a long distance twice since moving to the turf and was second last time as the 2-1 favorite. (1) Shade of Pale made his first two starts at Monmouth Park for Chad Brown rallying for second behind a horse that came back to win her next start. (9) Past Tense has five top three finishes including her last two races going the longer distances. (5) Competitive Threat missed the win by a neck in her first start of the year at Monmouth and gets a significant rider change.

3rd race [NY, Evan Shipman, 1 mi] – (5) Donegal Surges was second against NY-breds in a stakes at the Saratoga June meeting. (3) Bank Frenzy was an open length winner of the second-level allowance for state-breds as the favorite and changes barns. (4) Maker’s Candy returns from a June layoff and has two races in the winter that would make him a winner. (6) Whittingham Park is a past winner of a NY-bred stakes race.

4th race [Clm 40000 N2L, 5 ½ F TURF] – (9) Kreesa (B) got bumped at the start, had to steady at the half-mile pole, and then rallied from seventh to finish second. (10) Inflation Nation will drop into a claimer for the first time. He is stakes-placed against open company twice. (5) Schnittker has a great record in three starts on synthetic tracks for Wesley Ward. (2) Playground Legend was third in a similar spot at Monmouth last summer and will make his third start of the year.

11th race [Clm 32000, 1 1/8 mi TURF] – (4) Street Ready (B) broke mid-pack, was rank in the early going following a layoff, and had to check in the first turn. (10) Bourbon Day rallied late for second at Saratoga as the favorite for a $40,000 tag. (7) Landbiscuit got claimed two races back by Mike Maker who is currently second in the Saratoga trainer standings. (6) Yono was claimed for $32,000 at the Spa when he ran third.

Best bets: Jitterbug (2nd); Donegal Surges (3rd). Best value: Kreesa (4th); Street Ready (11th)
