th race [NY, Alw 95000, 7F] – (7) Carol T (B) was in tight quarters on the rail, would not go through, and still finished third. (3) Santagata broke her maiden in her second start by more than four lengths. (6) Maggie T had a win and three seconds in her last four starts in open-company claimers that usually translate well to this NY-bred level. (5) Foxy Cara frequently hits the board in this condition.

th race [Saratoga Oaks (G2), 1 3/16 mi TURF] – (4) Macanga (A) ran an excellent race to finish third behind a pace aided winner. (1) Cinderella’s Dream race seven wide while winning the Belmont Oaks (G1) in her first American start and continued to train at Saratoga for Charlie Appleby. (5) Greenfinch will make her first American start for Aidan O’Brien following a July victory in Ireland. (2) Dancing N Dixie won the Tepin at Churchill Downs last time with a dramatic late rally from seventh for hot Saratoga trainer Mark Casse.

th race [Hall of Fame (G2), 1 mi TURF] – (4) Neat is the winner of 3 out of his last 4 starts including the Manila (G3) last time at Aqueduct. The winner of five turf races had clear excuses in his other three starts. (2) Buttercream Babe won an allowance at the June Saratoga meeting and then was second in an Indiana stakes race for the hot barn of Mike Maker. (3) Zverev was an allowance winner at Churchill in June. (8) Army Officer won an allowance at Saratoga in June after a series of starts in Kentucky on the synthetic track at Turfway Park.

th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (9) Geopolitics ran second in all four starts with first two on the dirt and the other two on the grass. In all of them she set the pace and is likely to do so against an easier field. (1) Evaluation will make fer first start from prolific NY breeders as a $260,000 yearling purchase. (4) My Magic Wand ships up to Saratoga for a trainer that is having a great year and already has a win at the Spa. (5) Posse Rocks will debut for trainer Bruce Levine who is a threat to win with all of his first-timers.

Best bets: Neat (9th); Geopolitics (10th). Best value: Coral T (7th); Macanga (8th).
