2nd race [R, Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (8) Will Not Be Swayed (A) debuted for Brad Cox at 5-2 and finished second beaten by just a neck but well ahead of the rest of the field. (7) Tiz Purple was second in her first start which was at Monmouth Park as the 6-5 favorite. She pressed the pace and finished well ahead of the rest. (2) Thankfully was also a place finisher in her first start while running head-to-head for the lead and clearly beat the rest of the field. (4) Gerlin’s Empire was second in her only start at 7-1 in one of these earnings-restricted maiden races at Saratoga.

4th race [Alw 110000 N1X, 1 mi TURF] – (5) Unit Economics (A) lunged at the start last month at Saratoga, got to the lead, but finished second by one length. (1) Itsallcomintogetha was an allowance winner and then third in a stakes against NY-breds with the same speed figure that tops this field. (2) Victors Valiant won a starter allowance and then moved up to this allowance level and ran second. (4) Mission North broke her maiden at Laurel Park in June, stepped up to face winners last month at Aqueduct, and was fourth.

6th race [Clm 25000 N2L, 1 mi] – (10) Backstretch Rose broke her maiden for $50,000 at Churchill Downs and then tried the turf. She drops into a winning spot. (2) Rainingatthebeach won a NY-bred $40,000 maiden claimer by six lengths in her third start. (4) La Vita Sofia was a debut winner as a 2-year-old, ran in three stakes, and returns to the claiming ranks after racing in starter aallowances. (1) Moonlit Weekend was second in her two recent races at today’s level.

7th race [Clm 25000 N2L), 6F] – (8) Unclecharliesgift (B) broke last in his first start of the year, raced wide, and improved to get third at Saratoga during opening week. (11) Neuschwanstein returned from a five month layoff, set the pace in a Delaware Park allowance, and finished third. (7) Aaraj won a maiden special weight as a juvenile at Gulfstream Park and drops in for a tag for the first after five starts. (10) Giant’s Fire dropped own to the $25,000 level, finished second, and got claimed.

Best bets: Will Not Be Swayed (2nd); Unit Economics (4th). Best value: Backstretch Rose (6th); Unclecharliesgift (7th).
