3rd race [Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (1) Steadfast Resolve (A) broke last, rushed up on the outside to third, faded to fifth, and gets a rider change. (1A) Storm Ready would be a horse to use if he were to be the only part of the entry to run. (5) Tom Collins ran well last year when he was moved to the turf and now makes his first start of the year. (7) Inherent Promise got to the lead in the stretch in his last race which was at Gulfstream Park and lost by a neck. (4) Passive Management will make his debut for the team of Irad, Chad Brown, and Klaravich. He is a British-bred son of the great sire Dubawi.
6th race [Md Sp Wt, 5 ½ F] – (10) Classic Time (A) finished second by head in his debut after setting the pace and was well clear of the rest of the field as part of a 2-1 entry. (8) Strengthnguidance was third in both of his starts at Gulfstream with the most recent just two weeks ago. (3) Concrete Cruiser was second in his second race three weeks ago at Churchill Downs. (2) Reteko will make his debut for Tom Morley showing a strong work tab.

9th race [Coronation Cup, 5 ½ F TURF] – (7) Kairyu (B) was making her second American start, lacked running room around the turn and into the stretch, and finished second behind an impressive winner. (1) Toupie finished in the top three in all but one of her seven career starts including a victory in a Laurel Park stakes last month. Graham Motion’s horses are running very well at tracks all over the country. (5) Twirling Queen is the winner of her last three starts on turf and synthetic tracks with the most recent at Churchill Downs in a stakes race. (4) Pipsy won her first start in America in the Soaring Softly (G3) at Aqueduct and then was unsuccessful stretching out to a mile.
Best bets: Steadfast Resolve (3rd); Classic Time (6th). Best value: Drunk on Sake (7th); Kairyu (9th).
