th race [Clm 20000, 1 1/8 mi] – (2) Dust Devil (A) made a strong run for second in a $32,000 claimer. Two races back he was second for $25,000 when was claimed by the current connections and now drops into a winning spot. (6) Portos makes a big drop in class from stakes and allowance races. The last two times he was entered for a $50,000 tag he hit the board and was claimed. He has wins at the nine furlong distance. (4) Olliemyboy was claimed for $50,000 last month at Churchill Downs, returns as a new gelding, and also makes a big drop in class. (9) Two Thirty Five was a winner three races back in a $25,000 race from which he was claimed. After two tries against tougher competition he drops back down.

th race [NY, OC 45k/N2X, 5½ F TURF] – (6) Yarrow (B) will make his third start this year and gets blinkers on after a less than ideal ride when he finished fifth. (1) Foolish Ghost has an excellent record on wet tracks and with rain anticipated all week long this race could go on the main track. He is expected to get loose on the lead. (2) Runningwscissors raced on the grass in his last three starts and has two wins, but the 7-year-old has 10 victories on the dirt. MAIN TRACK ONLY – If the race moves to a wet track (10) Radio Red and (12) Amundson must be used.

th race [Alw 50000s, 7F] – (9) Condiment Girl won her last two starts with front-end efforts and was claimed for $30,000 at Ellis Park after she ran off to an almost nine-length advantage. She is projected to be on the lead for new trainer Diodoro. (10) Obrigada has a three-race winning streak, was claimed from her last two starts, and now goes for Linda Rice who won the Belmont Spring meeting beating Chad Brown by six wins. (8) Mursal won her last two races for a $25,000 tag and was claimed from the recent four length score by Rick Dutrow. (5) Sa Foradada gets the blinkers on after four consecutive second-place finishes at this level following a five month layoff and cuts back to seven furlongs at which she got her last victory.

th race [Schuylerville (G3), 6F] – (7) Wine On Tap was a convincing debut winner for Todd Pletcher. The $600,000 yearling purchase pressed the pace, took control by the stretch call, and drew off to win by three lengths as an even money favorite. Pletcher won this traditional opening day stake five times including with two-time champion Ashado. (6) Closing Act is unbeaten in two career starts with an off the pace victory in the Astoria at Belmont Park last month. Steve Asmussen has three prior wins in the Schuylerville. (5) Saratoga Secret will try and give Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas his seventh Schuylerville trophy. She was a maiden winner in June at Ellis Park by three lengths. The victories for Lukas came from 1986 to 2004. (9) Dancing Diana romped to a seven-length victory on the front-end at Delaware Park at odds of 7-2.

Best bets: Condiment Girl (7th); Wine On Tap (9th). Best value: Dust Devil (5th); Yarrow (6th).
