1st race [Md Sp Wt, 5 ½ F TURF] – (4) After Taxes is trained by Wesley Ward and he frequently dominates 2-year-olds with debut runners at a 32% clip. (1) Governor Sam made his first start in a stakes race at Gulfstream Park in May where he pressed the pace. (8) No Evidence will make his first start for Christophe Clement as a horse that he mentioned in a DRF Grening article of promising 2-year-olds. (6) America’s Honor was third in his first start at Monmouth Park at odds of 4-1 after a troubled start.

6th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 5 ½ F] – (2) Chasing Colton (C) was bet down from 9-1 to 5-1 and finished second behind the horse that won the Sanford on Saturday. (5) Joker on Fire makes his debut for Bruce Levine who already has a 2-year-old winner at this meeting and shows a bullet workout. (7) The Toner showed early speed in three starts at Churchill Downs and finished in the top three and the blinkers come off. (8) Saratoga Warrior will make his first start for Danny Gargan and My Racehorse.

8th race [Alw 100000 N1X, 6F] – (1) Do Gooder (B) had to steady and check in a very tough allowance race after running in a pair of graded stakes. (3) Cara’s Time won the second-level allowance for NY-breds by three lengths after running in a series of state-bred stakes and winning one of them. (6) Tricky Temper also exits NY-bred stakes races as a winner and was also placed in an open company stakes race. (7) Roswell got a big speed figure when running second behind Munny’s Gold in the Belmont at Saratoga meeting.

10th race [NY, Md 30000, 6F] – (3) Heart of the Night (C) was bet down from 8-1 to 6-1 and finished second in her first start for a new trainer. (4) Geopolitics has three second-place finishes including in a NY Stallion Series race where he set the pace in all of them. (6) Splashy ran a big race in his second start of the year. (9) Better Be Smart moved to the turf in his fourth start, pressed the pace, and earned a career best speed figure.

Best bets: After Taxes (1st); Heart of the Night (10th). Best value: Chasing Colton (6th); Do Gooder (8th).
