st race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 5 ½ F TURF] – (4) Instamatic made his way onto lists about promising 2-year-olds for the Saratoga meeting. This Danny Gargan runner had some impressive workouts. (7) Jimmythetooth made two starts at Belmont Park with a third and a second, both times behind the same horse. Experience often counts for a lot with the youngsters. (10) Film Academy is a debut runner for Mark Casse and is a son of successful young stallion Oscar Performance. (6) Price Is Truth will make his first career start for Christophe Clement with a turf workout showing.

nd race [Clm 50000 N2L, 1 mi TURF] – (3) Sister Nell (B) returned from a layoff and was eager to run while she set the pace which was unusual for a horse that was a deep closer in all previous starts. (7) Anileate returned to the turf and had three top three finishes in a pair of N2L claimers and then a starter allowance. She was claimed for $30,000 in that sequence. (2) Miss San Gabriel broke her maiden in her last start in June for Graham Motion with a front-end effort at Pimlico. (5) Frosty Invasion was second at this level earlier in the month with her top speed figure.

rd race [Clm 35000B, 6F] – (7) Candy Caramel (A) was floated eight-wide and rallied for second in a $40,000 open-claimer in her first start for a new trainer. (2) Arella Star switches to a New York-based trainer and drops out of three stakes races and a handicap. (5) It Takes Heart drops back to the claiming ranks where last seen she finished second for a $50,000 tag. (6) American Bastet has been off since February, the blinkers come off, she drops in for a tag for the first time.

th race [Clm 16000, 6 ½ F] – (2) Beautiful Karen was claimed for $16,000 three races ago, tried tougher company, and now drops back today’s level. (4) Mon Petit Chou was claimed for $32,000 three starts back and drops into a winning spot here. (1) Vitaemi was an open length winner in May at Parx for $15,000 and now changes to a New York barn and gets Irad Ortiz on board. (6) Meraviglioso was third and then fourth in starter allowances at Belmont and makes a big drop in class.

Best bets: Instamatic (1st); Candy Caramel (3rd). Best value: Sister Nell (2nd); Beautiful Karen (4th).
