1st race [Md Sp Wt, 6 ½ F] – (4) Reliable Source was second in her debut at Churchill Downs last month for Steve Asmussen. (6) Donor Advised was mentioned by Chad Brown as a talented 2-year-old in his barn. (2) My Shot is trained by Tom Amoss who is off to a great start at Saratoga including a 2-year-old winner. (3) Buriana will make her second start for D. Wayne Lukas who rarely wins with first time starters.

8th race [Clm 14000 N3L, 6F] – (2) Devil’s Cay will move from turf to dirt which is his better surface and drops back to the N3L condition after three races in starter allowances. (4) For Some Reason will also make the big drop in class back to the claiming ranks since breaking his maiden. (7) Blue Plate Special returns from a layoff and had his last win in a $25,000 N2L and then raced against better. (5) Quick Hammer used early speed to win at the N2L level two races back.

9th race [Bowling Green (G2), 1 3/8 mi TURF] – (2) Silver Knott is part of the Charlie Appleby/Godolphin string that has been training at Saratoga. He won his last two starts in the Elkhorn (G2) at Keeneland and the Man O’War (G2) at Aqueduct. (5) Soldier Rising returns from a winter layoff following three second-place finishes in a row in Grade 1 or 2 races. (1) Ohana Honor was third in the Manhattan (G1) and second in the Man O’War in his last two starts. (6) Strong Quality prefers to race on the lead and is a danger out front for Mark Casse who is red hot at Saratoga thus far.

10th race [NY, Alw 95000 N1X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Laurel Valley (C) was bet down from 11-1 to 7-1 and then went right to the lead eventually finishing second by less than a length. (7) Slapintheface (D) was bet from 9-1 to 6-1 in his first start after a winter layoff and finished fourth after a mild rally. (1) Two’s a Crowd (B) made his first start of the year two weeks ago at the beginning of the Saratoga meeting, ran into traffic at the eighth pole, and gets first-time Lasix. (8) Sonic Speed just missed winning in a similar spot in his first start after a layoff.

Best bets: Silver Knott (9th); Laurel Valley (10th). Best value: Reliable Source (1st); Devil’s Cay (8th).
