Two Keeneland September Grads Win Breeders’ Cup Races

Keeneland September Yearling Sale alumni Moira and More Than Looks won races today on Championships Saturday of the 41st Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

Moira, who won the $2 million Maker’s Mark Filly and Mare Turf (G1), sold at the 2020 September Sale for $150,000 to X-Men Racing. Bred in Ontario by Adena Springs, she was consigned by Hidden Brook, agent. Kevin Attard trains the daughter of Ghostzapper, who was Canada’s 2022 Horse of the Year, for owners X-Men Racing, Madaket Stables and SF Racing. She was ridden by Flavien Prat.

More Than Looks, who captured the $2 million FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) Presented by PDJF, sold to owner Victory Racing Partners for $135,000 at the 2021 September Sale. He was consigned by breeder Hinkle Farms. Cherie DeVaux trains the son of More Than Ready, who was ridden by Jose Ortiz. He was second in Keeneland’s Coolmore Turf Mile (G1) on Oct. 5.
