Jorge Delgado (winning trainer of Super Chow)

“Very nice, very nice (to get my first win in my second start at Keeneland). We’re very happy. Very thankful to the owner Lea Farms – they never show me anything but support. And my team did an amazing job. I’m very happy with my rider, the groom, my assistant – they were magnificent, so I have to thank them all.”

Chantal Sutherland (winning rider)

“(Super Chow is) really fast. The first part I was a little concerned, like, ‘Oh, my God, we’re going a little quick. Is he going to hold on and last?’ Not only did he last, he kept on accelerating. He was impressive for me today. I rode him his first start and that was impressive, but he’s really matured and obviously (trainer Jorge) Delgado and his team have done an amazing job. I’m so lucky to ride him. Amazingly (he shrugged off a couple of late challenges), because this was a pretty nice field of horses. I was worried about Sir Lancelot but (Super Chow) brought his A game today and I think we’re going to see more amazing things from this horse.”

Tyler Gaffalione (rider of runner-up Bourbon Bash)

“I didn’t get a clean break, but he traveled well into the race. Coming into the stretch he gave me a really nice run – just couldn’t run down the horse in front. At the top of the lane, I thought I had a shot but it was short lived.”

Jose Ortiz (rider of Sir Lancelot, the beaten favorite who finished fourth)

“He broke sharp. I was in a pretty good spot following the leader. We've got no excuses. He's still a baby. That horse ran a very good race and we bounce back and live to fight another day.”
