TIZAMAGICIAN could not hold on versus TRIPOLI in his last start but could benefit by shortening by a quarter mile. MEDINA SPIRIT has a tough time beating a weaker field in his last. His workouts say he will be ready but does not pass many, doubtful he gets the lead here. IDOL has not missed the board in six starts, including three at Santa Anita. A bullet 6 furlong workout on September 26th was faster than his fractions in his last start.

UNITED will be the favorite and has finished in the money five of six at the distance and eight of 11 at Santa Anita. AWARD WINNER has two wins and two seconds in four at Santa Anita. The two wins were at todays distance.
