1. Princess Rooney (1983) 

Paula Tucker’s Princess Rooney romped to a 9½-length victory in her final tuneup before winning the Kentucky Oaks. One of 13 fillies to complete an Ashland-Oaks double, Princess Rooney was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991.

 

2. Silverbulletday (1999)

Mike Pegram’s Silverbulletday posted a 7-length victory in a triumphant return to Keeneland six months after winning the Alcibiades. She added a Kentucky Oaks victory to her resume and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.

3. Go for Wand (1990) 

Christiana Stables’ Go for Wand, a two-time Eclipse Award winner, skipped over a muddy track to a 5-length victory. Go for Wand was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1996.

 

4. Inside Information (1994) 

Ogden Mills Phipps’ Inside Information coasted to a 5½-length victory. She returned to Keeneland in October 1995 to win the Spinster and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008.

5. Winged Wishes/Maud Muller (1974) 

One of four times the race was run in divisions. In 1974, jockey Don Brumfield won both, taking the first on a filly he bred, Winged Wishes, who was owned by his mother, Viola Brumfield. Darby Dan Farm’s Maud Muller won the second division.
