The Toyota Blue Grass (G1), for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles, runs Tuesday, April 8. The Blue Grass Stakes was named after the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, which is characterized by grass having bluish-green culms and is known as the heart of the Thoroughbred breeding industry. The race was elevated to Grade 1 status in January 2022.
