Keeneland Library Lecture Series Presents: An Evening with Josh Pons

Keeneland Library Lecture Series Presents: An Evening with Josh Pons

Thursday, August 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Keeneland Library will host Josh Pons in discussion of his new release depicting a century of life inside the horse business, written from inside the fences of Maryland’s oldest Thoroughbred farm.

In 2016, Pons discovered thousands of letters from his grandfather’s life in the basement of his farmhouse and adapted his discoveries to a beloved column in The BloodHorse. In Letters from Country Life, Pons welcomes readers to step into the attic garret as he draws from the farm’s rich archive to recover voices from the Golden Age of Horse Racing and to share his own candid reflections on how the past influences the present.

Pons, a two-time Eclipse Award-winning journalist and third-generation horseman, graduated from the University of Kentucky Law School before returning to his family’s farm. Pons served as president of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association for six years.

Following the presentation, enjoy a book signing and reception with Josh Pons.

A portion of the proceeds benefit the Keeneland Library Foundation which supports the Library’s preservation, education, and outreach projects.
